Briony Tronson (AThR), M.A. Therapeutic Arts Practice, B.A. Psychology & Media, Adv.Dip. Transpersonal Art Therapy, Grad. Cert. Arts Administration

Hi, my name is Briony (she/her).  As a registered Creative Arts Therapist (AThR), I have chosen to be in private practice to support people who may feel that talk therapy modalities are no longer suitable (or working for them) and are curious to try something different. I am particularly interested in working alongside and supporting adults living with mental health concerns including anxiety, complex trauma and depression, as well as people in transitional periods within their lives. I practice with a recovery orientated approach to mental health care valuing choice, self-determination, empowerment and advocacy.

On a more personal front I am deeply interested in community, sustainability, spirituality and the human potential. I love exploring symbolism and story, am fascinated by nature and in my downtime enjoy puddling around my garden with my many, many pot plants! All my life I have loved the art making process and continue to find it an important place of solace for me. Through my own participation in Creative Arts Therapy practices, I have found (and continue to find) hope and the potential for positive change. I hope you do too..

  • I live by the core values of creativity, integrity, compassion, inclusivity and safety.

  • I work in a holistic, person-centred and trauma informed way.

  • I honour peoples own lived experience and value collaborative inquiry.

  • I believe community connection is vital for our own health and wellbeing as well as that of the planet.

  • I trust that through art making we can inspire and promote positive social and environmental change.

As someone who has lived with complex trauma (CPTSD), I not only bring professional training but deep personal insight to my work. I know what it is to rebuild a life from difficult places, to hold both pain and possibility in the same breath. My own healing journey is ongoing and shapes the care, integrity and presence I offer in the therapy space. I am committed to ongoing supervision, reflection and trauma-informed practice- not in spite of my lived experience, but because of the wisdom it offers.
