Therapeutic Approaches @Seedpod

I offer a variety of approaches to support you in a compassionate, flexible and non-judgmental space. Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, therapy is shaped around what feels most helpful for you. Together we can explore areas of your life at a pace that feels safe and empowering, with creativity and art-making as a guide.

In all my work, I am committed to trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming care, ensuring that therapy is inclusive, responsive and attuned to your lived experience. I also work through an intersectional lens, recognizing how identity, culture and systemic factors shape well-being and ensuring that all aspects of who you are are honored in therapy

  • Phenomenological Approach

This approach works with the here and now. It offers an opportunity to assess what is present for you through the art making process. It prioritises the creative art making process as a way to guide us. I will offer careful reflections and techniques to deepen our work together and help make meaning. This approach considers values, needs and patterns of being as well as exploring how you might like to be in the world. Felt sense and embodied experience are also considered.

  • Transpersonal Approach

This approach incorporates the idea that we have a soul/spirit. In this approach I can work with you through symbol, metaphor, guided visualisations, dreamwork and mindfulness. It is an holistic approach to healing, and encourages you to explore your inner landscapes and own personal imagery. It is not necessarily goal orientated (in an external sense) but instead encourages on going healing, authenticity, self-empowerment and transformation. This is for those who feel they would like to incorporate an element of spirituality and delve into their own innate wisdom.

  • Somatic & Embodied Approach

This integrative approach explores the deep connection between body and mind, recognising that emotions and experiences are held not only in thoughts but also in the body. Through somatic awareness, movement, body mapping, and guided drawing (Sensorimotor Art Therapy), this approach supports emotional regulation, self-understanding and the processing of experiences in a holistic way. It is often woven into sessions to help deepen awareness and foster a sense of balance and connection.

Core Therapeutic Principles

Trauma Informed Care

Understanding that trauma affects both the mind and body, sessions emphasise safety, stability and empowerment. Rather than revisiting traumatic experiences too quickly, the focus is on building resources and supporting you to reconnect with a sense of safety and agency. Creative expression and somatic awareness are integrated to facilitate healing in a supportive and manageable way.

Neurodiversity-Affirming Care

Seedpod Creative Arts Studio celebrates and honors diverse ways of thinking, sensing and expressing. Therapy is adapted to support individual strengths, sensory needs and communication styles, creating a flexible and inclusive space. There is no "right" way to engage, whether through words, movement or imagery, you are supported in ways that feel natural and empowering.
